ABOUT TOYOTA ENVIRONMENTAL DEALERSHIP (TED) PROGRAM
| FACT SHEET
Toyota Environment Dealership (TED):
• The Toyota Environmental Dealership program is an environmental benchmarking program that aims to integrate environmental thinking and sustainable business practices into the daily operations of Australian Toyota dealerships and to encourage dealers to continuously improve their environmental performance.
• TED is not only a first for Toyota Australia, but it is also the first dealer environmental program for Toyota globally and for the Australian automotive industry.
• The program has three main benefits:
1. It demonstrates Toyota Australia’s and the dealer network’s environmental leadership.
2. The program helps dealerships engage with staff and the local community through environmental initiatives and broader social contributions.
3. TED helps dealerships save money through reducing energy, water, paper use and waste costs. Savings of up to 20 per cent are possible through simple low-cost options and as much as 50 per cent is possible with the use of energy-efficient equipment.
• TED was launched in May 2010.
• In June 2010 Toyota Australia’s Environmental Policy Group received the first submission for a 5 Star TED. Patterson Cheney Toyota of Dandenong was audited and found to be compliant. |
